About this trip

Ancient Himalayan temples, a wildlife sanctuary on a ridge, and a tiger reserve.

One night at Almora (1000-year-old temples), one night at Binsar (wildlife sanctuary at 2,420 m with 300-km Himalayan view), two nights at Kausani, and two at Corbett. A heritage-meets-wildlife circuit for travellers who prefer substance over spectacle.

What stands out

  • Kolkata <-> Moradabad train fare INCLUDED (Sleeper Class)
  • Kasar Devi & Chitai Golu Devta temples (Almora)
  • Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary — Zero Point Himalayan view
  • Kausani sunrise + Anasakti Ashram + Tea Estate
  • 2 Jeep Safaris at Corbett (Bijrani + Dhela)
  • 1N Riverside + 1N Corbett FRH
  • Full meal plan

What to pack

Keep it light. There is a road transfer and a jeep with limited space, so one bag per person works far better than two.

  • Warm layers (Almora, Binsar, Kausani all cool)
  • Walking shoes (Binsar Zero Point trek 2 km)
  • Camera, telephoto for Himalayan view
  • Binoculars
  • Raincoat (Jul-Sep)
  • Valid photo ID
  • Modest clothing for temples

Frequently asked

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary at 2,420 m offers an unmatched 300 km Himalayan ridge view from Zero Point — covering Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Panchachuli.
A 1000+ year old temple visited by Swami Vivekananda, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and others. It sits on one of Earth’s only three Van Allen Belt anomalies — said to give a unique meditative energy.
Children above 7 are fine. The Zero Point trek is 2 km on an easy paved path. Wildlife sightings are mostly leopard pugmarks, deer and birds — no big cats expected.

A few things worth knowing

On the news

Ajkal recorded a podcast with us

The Bengali daily sat down with us to talk about running small-group safaris out of Kolkata, and why we work one park properly instead of selling forty destinations.

They travelled with us

Chandrabindoo in Corbett

The band came to the forest with us. Same trains, same jeeps, same gates as everybody else on this page — we do not run a separate trip for anyone.
